Jazz Composers Alliance Orchestra
There’s a BIG Dot Jazz show this Saturday, folks! The 21 piece Jazz Composers Alliance Orchestra will present a program of new, adventurous compositions by resident composers David Harris, Darrell Katz, Bob Pilkington and Mimi Rabson. The JCA Orchestra’s resident composers have a wide variety of stylistic influences, and unique approaches to composition and ways to integrate improvisation as a compositional device. Since its founding in 1985, the JCA Orchestra has released 12 critically acclaimed CDs and has had appearances with many illustrious guest composer/performers including Henry Threadgill, Julius Hemphill, Dave Holland and Maria Schneider.

Peabody Hall is a fully accessible space in the Parish of All Saints, 209 Ashmont Street, Dorchester. The church is a short walk from Ashmont State on the Red Line and offers free parking.
